Do you feel intimidated when you go to a gym?
Do you feel that people are judging you when you’re working out?
Well, you shouldn’t feel anxious at all.
The truth of the matter is that most regular gym users have been in your shoes too.
Despite what you see on Instagram, Facebook or any other social media platform. People will only let you see what they want you to see.
So please don’t pay any attention to that.
Not every dude is jacked up and shredded.
No girls have a perfect face of makeup and neat hair if they are training properly.
As time goes on you will get more comfortable in your surroundings.
You will become more confident the more you learn about what to do and best of all.
You will start not giving a damn about what other people think.
On top of that.
You will start to make friends.
Friends who are either more or less experienced as you or on a similar level.
Friends who are on a similar journey as you be it weight loss or training for an occasion.
Friends who can relate to where you are coming from.
Friends who can empathise and sympathise with you on your struggles.
Who you can share good times with.
I met these guys whilst I was living in Sydney.
Ev, the guy on my left was a PT in the gym that I used to train at.
One day he invited me to work out with him and we become friends.
He then introduced me to his brother and their friends. Turned out we had more in common than just fitness.
If it wasn’t for Ev, I wouldn’t be a personal trainer either.
Even though I have been back in England for 10 years now we’re still good friends to this day.
So, just buckle up and enjoy the ride.
Why not even get a friend of yours to join you too?
